Sara graduated in 2012 from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Anthropology. She received her Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from UNO Grace Abbott School of Social Work in 2017. She is a Licensed Independent Mental Health Provider (LIMHP), a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor (LADC). Sara utilizes a variety of person-centered and strengths-based interventions to help clients heal and grow. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT). She specializes in working with teens and adults who are diagnosed with mental health and substance use disorders simultaneously. She has a particular interest in working with individuals who have survived trauma. She is able to complete substance use evaluations for adolescents and adults and has experience working with both the juvenile and adult justice systems.

Sara is passionate about providing culturally sensitive care and understanding how a client’s unique background and identity affects the type of support they require. She works to individualize services and ensure clients feel dignity and respect. Sara is currently focused on obtaining a Doctorate in Social Work (DSW) and hopes to continue advancing her clinical skills and eventually begin teaching others.
