Complicated Co-Parenting?

Gain access to telehealth and in-person counseling

Healthy co-parenting is possible.

Start outpatient co-parenting therapy with us and start raising well adjusting and thriving children.

According to the American Psychological Association, co-parenting refers to the way two parents work together to raise their children after separation or divorce.

Healthy co-parenting includes respectful communication, consistency between homes, and a shared commitment to putting children’s emotional needs first. When parents are able to cooperate and manage conflict, children are more likely to feel safe, secure, and supported during this transition.

Co-parenting doesn’t mean you have to agree on everything, and it doesn’t require a perfect relationship. It does mean learning how to set boundaries, communicate effectively, and keep adult issues away from your children. Many parents struggle at first, especially when there is unresolved hurt, stress, or differing parenting styles. This is normal, and support can make a meaningful difference.

With Creative Counseling and Studio, we will partner with you to process emotions, strengthen communication, develop practical co-parenting strategies, and help you build a healthier parenting relationship focused on your children’s wellbeing. Our co-parenting counseling services support separated and divorced couples who are ready to reduce conflict, increase cooperation, and create a more peaceful future for their family.

How does co-parenting therapy work?

1

Co-Parenting Intake Session: Both Parents Involved

We begin with a joint intake session where both parents come together to share concerns, clarify goals, and establish expectations in a neutral, supportive space. This session helps identify family dynamics while centering your child’s emotional wellbeing and setting the foundation for healthy co-parenting.

2

Intentional Family Schedule Planning

We collaborate to create intentional, realistic schedules that support consistency between homes, including routines, transitions, and special occasions. Thoughtful planning helps reduce conflict and provides children with stability and predictability. This will occur over one to two sessions.

3

On-Going Mediation and Family Therapy

Through ongoing mediation and family therapy, we address communication challenges, evolving needs, and unresolved conflict as they arise. These sessions focus on building cooperation, strengthening boundaries, and keeping your children at the center of every decision.
